Cairo Runners is back on the streets, and what a convenient time to be back and run for a good cause! On the 23rd of June, to celebrate World Refugee Day, Cairo Runners invites everyone to join the World Refugee Day Run and Exhibition.
Run for A Cause
World Refugee Day Run aims to honor the resilience and perseverance of refugees worldwide. Organized under the PROSPECTS partnership, led by the Government of the Netherlands, this event aims to raise awareness and support for refugees while fostering inclusivity and showcasing their remarkable talents. The PROSPECTS initiative brings together esteemed organizations such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), and the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
Aside from the actual run, attendees can explore an engaging expo where refugee artisans and entrepreneurs will exhibit and sell their products and handicrafts. The expo serves as a platform for refugees to demonstrate their creativity, skills, and entrepreneurial spirit.
The World Refugee Day Run and Exhibition seeks to create a sense of community, understanding, and hope for refugees striving to rebuild their lives.
Timing and Location
Participants and supporters are invited to gather at 6:45 AM at Le Lac Du Caire, with the run scheduled to commence promptly at 7:15 AM. The route covers an 8K distance, comprising five laps of 1.6 kilometers each. Participants can head to the expo after the run concludes around 12:00 PM.

About the Organizers
Cairo Runners is the first street-running sports community in Egypt. The organizer provides mini-marathons and promotes environmental sustainability in sports.
