Roody 50X Ultra Trail
The Roody 50X Ultra Trail race returns this year, marking the first ultra trail race of the season in Egypt. The event is set for September 3, ready to welcome intermediate and advanced runners and hikers from all over the country.
The Biggest Ultra Trail Race in Egypt
Roody 50X Ultra Trail is one of the biggest sports events organized annually by Ultra Ibex, a community-based sports club and organizer. The event is the biggest ultra trail race of the season, named after the founder of Ultra Ibex Raid Gamal-Eldin.
The Roody 50X Ultra Trail encourages all participants to complete their goals under these two distances: 56 KM and 26 KM. There will be aid stations every 12.5 kilometers.
Due to the structure of the Wadi trail, there will be no markings on the trail. Instead, the organizers will provide the participants with GPX files of the route. Participants can use GPS devices, such as smartphones and smartwatches, to navigate the trail.
Timing and Location
The Roody 50X Ultra Trail takes place on the Wadi Degla Protectorate, a 12-km long canyon located southeast of Maadi, Cairo, in Egypt. The venue is a tourist attraction and is considered one of the most important valleys in the country because of its history and unique scenery. Participants are expected to go to the starting point outside the Degla Protectorate car gate from Zahraa El Maadi Entrance on race day. The organizer will host the event on Saturday, September 3.
