The Sinai Trail team is organizing another challenging hike this July on the country’s first-ever long-distance hiking trail. Leopard’s Rock, a beautiful peak in the Hamada tribe’s territory, is the destination for the month. The hike begins on July 22.
Reach the Peak at Leopard’s Rock
The Sinai Trail welcomes the summer with a journey to Hajar el Nimr, a beautiful peak in the Hamada tribe’s territory, which translates in English as the Leopard’s Rock. The Hamada is the oldest of all Bedouin tribes in the Sinai, so this trip will go deep into one of their most remote, little-known mountain landscapes.
Um Yasser, the first Bedouin woman guide on the Sinai Trai, will lead the hike. It will involve a hike of moderate difficulty, covering around 20km on the first day. The team will sleep in Um Yasser’s home on the first night and will hike to the ghost town of Um Bojma on the second day.
