Siwa Oasis, an urban oasis in Egypt that lies between the Qattara Depression and the Great Sand Sea in the Western Desert, remains a little-explored gem in the region. But for inquisitive yoga students and meditation enthusiasts who want to explore, the Siwa Oasis is the perfect place for a mindfulness retreat.
This November, Follow Your Peace yoga community and yoga enthusiast Marwan Magdy present SHIFT to the WEST, a 4-day yoga and mindfulness retreat in Siwa Oasis.
Mindfulness Retreat in the Oasis
SHIFT to the WEST is one of the annual mindfulness retreats organized by Follow Your Peace, a huge online community of yoga students and teachers in Egypt that also functions as a meditation center.
The 4-day event includes indoor and outdoor activities. Meditation, yoga sessions, reflecting cycles, mindfulness talks, and group workshops for indoor activities, and sightseeing excursions in Siwa mountains, salt lakes, springs, and temples for outdoor activities.
The yoga and meditation sessions are led by Lubna Elnaggar, a certified meditation and mindfulness trainer and a peace activist. Through her passion, she spent more than 10 years working in charity and social work.
Timing and Location
SHIFT to the WEST will explore the various offerings of the Siwa Oasis from November 28 to December 2. The accommodation or main resting place of the participants is at one of the best Eco lodges in Siwa, near the landmarks and attractions of the oasis.
