Alexandria Marathon

The new date for the annual Alexandria Marathon is now set. Alex Runners, one of the established running communities in the region, will once again host the 2023 event this October. With its enduring tradition and commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, Alex Runners is gearing up to provide participants with a memorable and challenging race experience that captures the essence of this vibrant coastal city.

Marathon in the Bridge of the Mediterranean

The Alexandria Marathon is an annual running event hosted by various running communities and sports organizations year by year—claimed by everyone as the largest sporting event in Alexandria. Last year, Cairo Runners planned and conducted the event. This 2023, the Alex Runners will hold the torch and host the following race categories:

• Full Marathon (42k)
• Half Marathon (21K)
• 10K Run
• 5K Fun Race
• Kids Race 500M
• 2K Youth Race
• 2K Family Run

Timing and Location

The Alexandria Marathon will take place on October 27, 2023, at Bibliotheca Alexandrina. With its rich history, picturesque coastal setting, and the world-renowned Bibliotheca Alexandrina as the starting and finishing point, this event promises not only an athletic test but also an opportunity to soak in the cultural and intellectual heritage of Alexandria.
