Al Maqsad Run

Cairo Runners, in partnership with City Edge Developments, will host a free marathon at Al Maqsad New Capital this June. Al MAQSAD RUN is open to everyone—amateur and professional runners and even families with kids looking for exciting ways to spend their free time.

Free Marathon in the New Capital

The Al MAQSAD RUN is a free running event for everyone in the area of Al Maqsad New Capital or other parts of the country; participants who have the means to reach the New Capital on race day are welcome to join.

Participants can choose between 10K Run, 5K Run, or Family Run to officially join the event. On top of the main running event, Cairo Runners and City Edge Developments also prepared various entertainment and activities, including photo booths, live performances, and F&B trucks.

Timing and Location

Al MAQSAD RUN will welcome everyone on Friday, 17th of June 2022, at 8 AM. The venue, Al Maqsad New Capital, is City Edge Developments’ new flagship project in the heart of the New Administrative Capital. It is set to be a luxury compound that can house 15 million people.

Registration Information

The registration for Al MAQSAD RUN is open online. Head to this link to register. The program is free, but registration is mandatory. Buses are also available, so you need to register and choose the appropriate meeting point for you and your companions. The available meeting points are New Cairo, Nasr City, and Lebanon Square.

About the Organizers

The Cairo Half Marathon is the official organization handling the event annually. Its partner, Cairo Runners, is the first street-running sports community in Egypt. They provide mini-marathons and promote environmental sustainability in sports.
