Abbas & Red “The 2 Peaks Hike” by The Escapers
This Spring Break and Sham El Nessim, The Escapers is taking things to the next level with not just one, but two mountains to conquer! This is your chance to experience the rugged beauty of St. Catherine like never before. This is Hello, Catherine in its wildest and most memorable form.
Two Peaks With One Stone
The Escapers and Ahmed Fouad are heading to Abbas Mountain (2304m) and Red Mountain (2318m)—two peaks with panoramic summits, peaceful trails, and a soul-refreshing journey through springs, valleys, and desert skies. Here’s the full itinerary:
Friday – April 18 (B-L-D) | 6–7 hrs hiking
Arrival at St. Catherine in the early morning. After breakfast, the hike begins through Ain Shikaya Spring and El Zawatein, reaching the summit of Abbas Mountain for lunch. Descent is timed before sunset, followed by campsite setup in El Zawatein and dinner.
Saturday – April 19 (B-L-D) | 8–9 hrs hiking
Following breakfast and warm-up, the trail continues through El Shaq Valley and into El Ahmar Valley, climbing up to the summit of Red Mountain. After enjoying the summit views, hikers return to El Ahmar Valley for lunch, then head back to El Shaq Valley for camping and dinner.
Sunday – April 20 (B-L) | 3–4 hrs hiking
The final stretch includes breakfast, a scenic hike through Shekaya Spring, and a descent to Catherine Town via Abu Giva. After lunch, it’s time to return to Cairo, closing the journey with renewed energy and memories.
The hike is designed for intermediate-level hikers with solid experience and a very good fitness level. It involves long hours on foot, rugged terrain, and high elevations. Before signing up, participants are advised to review the Escape Code of Ethics to ensure readiness for this kind of adventure.
Timing and Location
The journey begins on Thursday, 17th of April 2025 with a gathering at 10:30 PM in Nasr City. The exact meeting point will be shared privately with registered participants. Departure is at 11:00 PM by private A/C bus. The group returns on Sunday, 20th of April 2025 by 11:00 PM.

The standard participation fee is 6100 EGP per person, which includes transportation, entrance tickets, guided hikes, two nights of camping, and all meals listed in the itinerary. The early bird rate is 5500 EGP for those who complete payment before 3rd April, while groups of five or more can enjoy a 15% discount—please note that only one discount offer may be applied per person.
Registration closes once the maximum number of participants is reached, and the trip may be canceled if the minimum number is not met. Refunds are subject to the cancellation policy based on reservation type and timing
