8K Women Race

Cairo Runners, in partnership with Capital Group Properties and under the auspices of The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) and RUN, proudly announce the second edition of Egypt’s biggest women-only race. The 8K Women Race, which saw success in its inaugural season, comes back this February.

Run For And With Women: Part 2

The 8K Women Race is a race to celebrate all the women out there, athletes or not, and to welcome the upcoming women’s month in March. Last year, the race coincided with and promoted the 16 Days of Activism campaign against gender-based violence, so the event aimed to combat and raise awareness on violence against women and girls.

Adult female participants are the main participants of the 8K Women Race, but friends and family members can also join and support the participants through the 2K Family Run happening the same day.

Timing and Location

The 8K Women Race takes place on the 26th of February 2022, Saturday, at Alburouj (Cairo Ismailia Road). This is the second time Alburouj is proudly hosting the event. The program starts at 8:00 AM and ends at 10:30 AM. Refer to the timetable below for the full race-day agenda.

• Arrival & Registration: 8:00 -9:00 AM
• 8K Race Warm-up: 9:15 AM
• 8K Race: 9:30 AM
• Family Run Warm-Up: 9:35 AM
• Family Run: 9:45 AM
• Winners and Ceremony: 10:30 AM

8K Women Race

• Early-bird registration – 250 LE
• Regular registration – 300 LE

2K Family Run

• Early-bird registration (1 Adult + 1 Kid up to 8 years old) – 200 LE
• Regular registration (1 Adult + 1 Kid up to 8 years old) – 250 LE
• Early-bird registration (1 Adult + 2 Kids up to 8 years old) – 230 LE
• Regular registration (1 Adult + 2 Kids up to 8 years old) – 280 LE

About the Organizer

Based in New Cairo, Cairo Runners is the first street-running sports community in Egypt. They provide mini-marathons and promote environmental sustainability in sports. Cairo Runners has been producing an average of 2,500 runners every week.
